Blood tests Like Liver function test.

Serum Amylase Lipase.

USG abdomen.

CT abdomen.

Endoscopic Ultrasound.

What are the types of Acute Pancreatitis?

Mild Pancreatitis Recovers faster within a week or two.

Moderate and severe Pancreatitis takes weeks and sometimes months Patients can land up with renal failure respiratory problems sometimes ventilator sometimes needs Surgery or Endoscopy.

How is it treated?

Pain killers to control pain as per patients pain scale Sometimes Anaesthetists and pain specialists adminster drugs to control pain.

Fluids (Drip/saline infusion).

Antibiotics after 2nd week.

How to Prevent Acute Pancreatitis?

Say No to Alcohol and smoking
